THE AUERBACH WAY
Arriving on American soil at the turn of the 20th century, Maurice A. Auerbach came with a dream and a desire to be successful. With his determination and strong work ethic he dived into what he knew best – dry goods, and set up shop as a bean broker in Brooklyn, New York.
Hard work, a head for business and a reputation built on honesty separated Maurice A. Auerbach from his competitors. And gradually, more and more people began to notice. If you were to ask him, he would tell you that’s when his business really began to grow.
After Maurice’s death in 1952, his son Irwin took over the business and worked tirelessly to ensure that it continued to be the premier purveyor of select produce in the Northeast. With the introduction of the “AuerPak” line of packaged garlic, the business thrived like never before.
Rather than be content with a “business as usual approach”, Irwin saw an opportunity and branched out to grow the company’s product line. Today, Maurice A. Auerbach, Inc. provides an extensive range of produce including specialty items and organic products.
What started out in a garage over 70 years ago is now a modern, 60,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility serving retail chains, food service providers and wholesalers with the latest technology.
Maurice’s Grandson, Paul J. Auerbach, now heads the business. His hard work, knowledge of the industry and strong vision for the future ensures that the AuerPak Brand will continue to stand for freshness and quality.
